march Inspiration for Mixed Media Academy Challenge blog

Bild
Hi everyone! It's a new month and a new chance to join our challenges on the mixed media academy challenge blog. theme this month is again 'anything goes' mixed media except cards/tags/atcs. All details  here . As my inspiration for the challenge i created this art journal page. For this i worked in an old book. Old books are great for art journaling, they are cheap and easy to get and i just love this vintage look of the old pages and skripts.  I used white gesso to prepare the pages, fussy cutted some stamped elements and sticked them with gel medium. For the colors i used Lindy's Stampgang Sprays. For extra texture and insterest i added some strings.  this dragon-fly is stamped too. I glued it only in the middle to make it look a little dimensional. Thanks for watching, i hope you like my page and i could inspire you to create something for our challenge.

Happy rainbow colors

I had to leave my comfort zone again and tryed something very bright and colorful. For this i choosed some lovely magicals by Lindy's Stampgang and its so much fun to play with them. i used four different colors but it looks like much more, isn't it?  a layer of white gesso applied with a dry brush after the colors are completely dried i perfect to hightlight everything  if you like to see how i made it check out my YouTube channel  Ani.loves.Art

Altered money box

Bild
Hi everyone! I'm back with another mixed media creation. This time i altered a simple money box with lots of Finnabair products. I started as always with preparing the surface with white gesso. Then i applied modeling paste mixed with sand for some texture. After it was completely dry, i glued the embellishments with extra heavy gel medium and added some artstones. I covered everything with gesso again. For the color i used 'emerald green' metallique paint and 'violet gold' opal magic paint from Finnabair and hightlighted everything with 'white gold' wax.

tiny art on a puzzle piece

Bild
hi everyone! I love tiny creations, i created tiny bottles, tiny art journal pages, tiny canvases.. now it was time to find another small surface to work with. I wanted to turn puzzle pieces into fridge magnets and I played with several elements around - small gears would be perfect as embellishments, so i had found the style for it. But what next? I spend some hours with experimenting and searching for a nice composition, and suddenly i found it... i thought about this one photo of my boyfriend, i wanted to use for a mixed media project. Yes, this would be great for a steampunk creation and i decided to create a tiny layout on a puzzle piece. I wrote the lyrics of one of our favorite songs on an old book page and glued it on the puzzle piece. I applied a coat of gel medium as a sealer. To give this project a little bit texture, i mixed finnabair artalchemy paint 'steampunk copper' with extra heavy gel medium and applied this paste through a stencil to my background. After
