tiny art on a puzzle piece

hi everyone! I love tiny creations, i created tiny bottles, tiny art journal pages, tiny canvases.. now it was time to find another small surface to work with. I wanted to turn puzzle pieces into fridge magnets and I played with several elements around - small gears would be perfect as embellishments, so i had found the style for it. But what next? I spend some hours with experimenting and searching for a nice composition, and suddenly i found it... i thought about this one photo of my boyfriend, i wanted to use for a mixed media project. Yes, this would be great for a steampunk creation and i decided to create a tiny layout on a puzzle piece.
I wrote the lyrics of one of our favorite songs on an old book page and glued it on the puzzle piece. I applied a coat of gel medium as a sealer. To give this project a little bit texture, i mixed finnabair artalchemy paint 'steampunk copper' with extra heavy gel medium and applied this paste through a stencil to my background. After it was dry, i used blue patina paste deluted with water for a little bit color. I glued all elements with gel medium and added rust paste gently with a small brush.

Products i used:
gel medium/extra heavy gel medium - amsterdam
stencil - 13@rts
patina paste/rust paste - finnabair
gears/brads - finnabair/ retrokraftshop
title - tim holtz ideology

thanks for watching😊
