steampunk style with texture

hi dears, i'm back with a new creation.
This time i wanted to make a steampunk canvas, but i wanted to make something with lots of texture again,as well. So, why not combine both?
So i started with applying a thick layer of crackle paste by finnabair  and let it dry natural for a fiew hours. Then i built the composition with chipboard pieces, metal embellishments, dried roots and this cute face- this is made from paper clay by using a silicon mould.
I played with different colors, first lindys magicals for the backround (steampunk sepia and shabby turbine teal) then i added finnabairs artalchemy paint 'mermaid teal' and 'emerald green' deluted with water and off course 'steampunk copper' should not be missing for this project. 
to give it more texture i applied rustpaste (again finnabair) and some colored mica flakes and xs micropheres in old gold from 13@rts. Thanks for watching, i hope you like it

Finnabair inspired mixed media canvas

I'm a huge fan of Finnabair and i love her mixed media collages, and it was time to give this a try. I printed a picture of me on photo paper and glued it with gel medium on a canvas in size of 18x24cm. As the first step i used fixative spray to protect the picture and black gesso to prepare the rest of the canvas. Then i started to build my composition with metal embellishments, chipboardpieces and other small embellishments. After i glued all pieces with gel medium, i covered them with black gesso. As last step i added some artalchemy paints and white gesso to hightlight everything. products i used: Amsterdam black gesso Amsterdam extra heavy gel medium metal embellishments from Retrokraftshop chipboards from Snipart Finnabair artalchemy paints: 'deep water', 'opal magic pink blue', 'opal magic aqua rose' 'white pearl' Amsterdam white gesso

march Inspiration for Mixed Media Academy Challenge blog

Hi everyone! It's a new month and a new chance to join our challenges on the mixed media academy challenge blog. theme this month is again 'anything goes' mixed media except cards/tags/atcs. All details  here . As my inspiration for the challenge i created this art journal page. For this i worked in an old book. Old books are great for art journaling, they are cheap and easy to get and i just love this vintage look of the old pages and skripts.  I used white gesso to prepare the pages, fussy cutted some stamped elements and sticked them with gel medium. For the colors i used Lindy's Stampgang Sprays. For extra texture and insterest i added some strings.  this dragon-fly is stamped too. I glued it only in the middle to make it look a little dimensional. Thanks for watching, i hope you like my page and i could inspire you to create something for our challenge.
