Altered money box

Bild
Hi everyone! I'm back with another mixed media creation. This time i altered a simple money box with lots of Finnabair products. I started as always with preparing the surface with white gesso. Then i applied modeling paste mixed with sand for some texture. After it was completely dry, i glued the embellishments with extra heavy gel medium and added some artstones. I covered everything with gesso again. For the color i used 'emerald green' metallique paint and 'violet gold' opal magic paint from Finnabair and hightlighted everything with 'white gold' wax.

tiny art on a puzzle piece

Bild
hi everyone! I love tiny creations, i created tiny bottles, tiny art journal pages, tiny canvases.. now it was time to find another small surface to work with. I wanted to turn puzzle pieces into fridge magnets and I played with several elements around - small gears would be perfect as embellishments, so i had found the style for it. But what next? I spend some hours with experimenting and searching for a nice composition, and suddenly i found it... i thought about this one photo of my boyfriend, i wanted to use for a mixed media project. Yes, this would be great for a steampunk creation and i decided to create a tiny layout on a puzzle piece. I wrote the lyrics of one of our favorite songs on an old book page and glued it on the puzzle piece. I applied a coat of gel medium as a sealer. To give this project a little bit texture, i mixed finnabair artalchemy paint 'steampunk copper' with extra heavy gel medium and applied this paste through a stencil to my background. After ...

Hello Birdy, are you at home?

Bild
hello everyone! I'm back with another creation- alterered birdhouse made from chipboards by snipart. It comes as individual parts , that you have to glue together. For this i used tacky glue, but you can use every craftglue.  The first step was as always to prepare the surface with gesso- i used black gesso. Then i mixed texture paste with sand and black gesso and applied it with a palette knife. To speed up the drying process, i used my heat tool. Then i added some chipboard pieces from snipart, which i prepared with black gesso, too. For my composition i choosed two old brushes, some paper roses and regular artstones by finnabair. I glued everything with heavy gel medium and covered them with gesso. After everything was dry, it was time for some color. I started with some Lindy's stampgang sprays and used again my heat tool for drying.  For my embellishments i used some finnabair artalchemy paints and deluted them a little bit with water. To hightlight everythin...

Vintage art journal page

Bild
today i want to show you my vintage art journal page, which is inspired by Marta Lapkowskas Youtube videos, where she used 'no art tools'. So i decided to try it myself using coffee and tea as paints. I started with preparing the pages with gesso and started building a nice composition with some stripes and pieces of old paper, washitape and diecuts from tim holtz. Then i added some texturepaste through a stencil and some stampings. After drying i decided to add some lace and brads and chipboard pieces. for the color i used strong coffee and cherry tea, which gives a beautiful red-purple shade on the paper for the chipboards i used a vintage blue-copper embossing powder
